Claiming carers allowance help

I know how it feels, I just recently claimed for AA for my Grandma. She now pays for cleaners, carers on days I work and can't be there etc.
She has some savings but ... you have to prise it out of them, apart from spending on my children when her purse is open, but for herself it is another matter.
Like you I am hoping this extra money can be used willingly (as opposed to begrudgingly) to pay for things that make life easier.
I have no idea how hard or easy it is to claim (this board says it is hard) but the form is in and I'll deal with it if they decline it.0 -
then good luck with that, PD.. I found the online form pretty easy to fill in for him, just stick with it and hope they'll say yes. /After all, the authorities are saving money with not having to employ professional carers aren't they ?0

The authorities don't pay for professional carers if you have savings over £23,250.0 -
Well I think they should do, because someone else helping is taking the work off them.0
