If someone posts a question or response on here and they give false or misleading information, this is usually pointed out to them fairly quickly, which provided it's done in a non condescending manner, is fair enough.
Why shouldn't errors in grammar and spelling also be pointed out in the same way?
After all, none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes, and if these are not pointed out, the same mistake may well occur again and again.
Yes, this is a consumer rights forum and not a literacy class, but many people who come on here with problems, end up writing to the companies concerned, and a well thought out, grammatically correct letter may get taken more seriously and have a better outcome than a letter that has spelling and grammar mistakes.
(I'm an engineer and not an English scholar, so feel free to point out any errors I've made in the above post).
I'm with you...recently saw towing and clue when toeing and glue were meant in relation to tyre wear/rubber boots. Don't get me started on breaks and tires! arcon5 are you listening!0 -
The eyesight test came out inclusive of what causing the double vision.
I realise that not everyone likes mistakes pointed out but I'm assuming the word inclusive here should have been inconclusive.
With reference to a previous poster, I am not trying to appear superior but in this case the use of the correct word clarifies the situation. Not Rachmaninov

Judging by your post you are not in a very good position to correct other people.0 -
I went for a eyetest today at specsavers, as I had a bit of double vision. The eyesight test came out inclusive of what causing the double vision. Anywaythe only thing they said I need reading glasses 1.25 prescription.
I’ve never had to wear glasses until now, so know nothing aboutthem. I don’t read much during my work as my job is hands on.
I’ve paid £100 for 2 pairs of reading glasses, though seenthe same perscription for glasses in Superdrug, poundland etc all much more cheaper. Ok I know lesserstandard, but the time I am wearing them will be minimal.
I felt a cornered when in specsaver thus they had to close asale & I had to choose straight away.
I ordered these today & they said they will be in nextweek. However, I am having 2nd thoughts about my choice & if Ireally do need them.
Can I cancel the order does anyone know?
Are both eyes the same, i.e. are they both +/-1.25?
The glasses you are getting from Specsavers will be made to suit both your eyes, if they are both different then both lenses will be different where the glasses from pondland will be of the same strength in both eyes, and this can cause further problems.
I know you say they are reading glasses, but what about driving? Has the optician indicated that you may need to wear them to drive.
What about VDU work?
If you are concerned about the price IMO it would be better to look at the online glasses sites rather than but £1 glasses that may or may not be the strength on the label.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

The last post by Zandoni sums it up perfectly:Judging by your post you are not in a very good position to correct other people.Just so you know for future 'bought' is the word you're looking for,0

I recently had an eyetest and it was suggested it would be useful to have two pairs of specs just in case I lost a pair! I sometimes think undue pressure is put on to buy more than is required.
I just sweetly asked for my prescription, said i would think about it and promptly went to Costco and bought glasses which seem to suit my purpose.0 -
I went back & cancelled the order.
Did I brought them back or did I bought them back? I know the difference .just pressed the wrong selection as doing from a mobile.
I would like to say thank you for the posts. All barring black sheep. Who offered nothing to the post. Ive seen plenty of idiots like you going around the forums trying to make themselves look so good. Sadly you made yourself look a complete a******0
