Estate agent ad in newspape

Hi I am very grateful to all the people who give advice/opinions on here...I have another question...
When estate agents put your house photo etc in the local newspaper on their property page - is it usual to list the full postal address of the property including postcode?!
We are not happy as the property is empty and the photos show it as being empty so now anybody looking in the local area will know that it is an empty house! It's the only house advertised that they have put the full address for, they said they did it so it would generate more interest and people can drive round and have a look...I think it was probably a mistake...
Also too the EA in question put the advert in before we approved the brochure/photos and hadn't advised they were going to put an ad in the paper...in the meantime we had written to them to cancel the contract because of the bad quality of the brochure and bad attitude of a member of staff (within 7 days of signing) so now there's an ad in the paper and we're not even with the agent and many people will be able to see our empty house in the paper.

Sorry I waffled on, my question really is should estate agents publish the full address for the house for sale in the newspaper?0

It's standard practice round my way. And to put the full address on the window display, the website, etc etc. Otherwise, don't you think the agents' day would be spent answering phone calls along the lines of "See that property, the third one in your advert.... where is it?"

Why is this a problem particularly for an empty house, as opposed to an occupied one?0 -
I think OP is talking about from a security point of view and possibly vandalism or squatters?
I've not come accross it before but can't advise if it shouldn't be done at all etc sorry.0 -
People will see it on rightmove etc and know it's empty. Don't see how the paper is any different? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

Most adverts I have seen only show street name and post code. Never noticed one with a house number personally.0

Well, how do you propose that the house be marketed, in competition with others that do have their addresses shown, and have internal photographs with furniture in place?
Keep it a secret?0 -

None of the other properties I have seen in any newspaper show the full postal address.
Usually it might say the village or town, or possibly the road, but not the house number and postcode.0 -

That isn't stated in the ad, so all the public sees is an empty house, no different from any other empty house.
Do you think there's a high incidence of break-ins to empty houses in the area that the house is in?0
