Answer the questions above, might help.
Also, speak to the estate agent. For a rented property they should have a copy of the meter readings when you moved in.0 -

They said these were estimates.
Just found out the £3923 was not 4 years it's the last 18 months this can't be right
They also said they've Been out twice and took photos and the lady on the other line was getting really rude and said if they wanted to they could bills not only the £3923 for 18 months but the whole 4 years.
You've presumably read the links I took the time & effort to post earlier.
What do you say? It ain't rocket science.
Another one suggesting you answer the questions people who are trying to help you are taking the time & effort to ask. They don't do it for fun, they do it as they need the answers to give you good advice.0 -
only way to get them is to say they have not read in 2 years, if the consumer gives incorrect reads backbill wouldn't normaly apply as the consumer gave themDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

To rephrase:
Question one: is this misread issue on a gas meter, electricity meter, or both?
Question two: if gas, is your gas meter metric or imperial (it's marked on the front, cu m or 100's cu ft respectively)? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Your first post your quoted all my points but only challenged one. This time you quote nothing so really, as often the case, you are not making much sense.
If you think about it again you will see I suggested getting 4 years of copy bills, perhaps to allow the biennial "meter inspection" question to be answered from the billed reading types. Anyway a customer only read has to be accepted or validated (help Terrylw1). On the face of it the supplier's billing system accepted or validated reads it now does not accept. That is supplier error IMO.
You really should stop trying to "second guess" the outcome of any complaint, including Energy Ombudsman referral.
I will however refrain from allegations of "trolling":D.0 -

It depends on the billing history though, say for example it was a new meter when the op took over, they could be nothing to validate it against.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. Sorry for late reply couldn't get a signal where I was.

Question2. It's marked M

Ps they've said someone came round to take photos of the metre but what I don't get is surely if they checked this then when I told them the 4 digits then they should of said sir you need 5 digits not 4.0 -

First of all make sure you take your own photographs.
Next, £85/month is a tad below current average but not £3923 in 18 months below average.
On the face of it there is serious supplier billing error which as an amended bill I cannot see being explained by correctly amended reads if you have paid £85 every month.
Whatever, you must get your bill copies going back 4 years to allow the issue to be determined.
Regardless of how much they refuse to budge you have an absolute right to raise a Complaint if you are not 100% satisfied with the outcome of any customer service contact.
Don't delay if you want the prospect of debt recovery to be avoided or stayed.0 -

Thank you
If the bill does workout right which I don't think is correct before they start issuing CCJ's etc do you think I could pay say £50 extra a month or would they say pee off.0 -
they should allow £50 a month if their errorDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
