    Morning all,

Dark and overcast here, I think this mornings washing will go on the maiden.
Lots of eBay posting to do as well, although the house is nice and clean from the weekend viewing. So don't need to do much other than a tidy round. The viewing went very well with buyers who are in a position to move forward but I've learnt what people say and what people do are two different things so we will wait and see.
An easy tea tonight with a hm chilli out of the freezer which I will do with rice and garlic bread.
Totm so feeling a bit cross and irritable so a day at home for me, also need to get DS ready for 6th form tomorrow.
Need to get a move on with Xmas presses as half will be left at home and the rest will be coming with us to Australia, need to be even more organised than usual.
Thanks for the clarification HH I spent my walk yesterday trying to figure out what you meant:D good luck with things.
Want to catch up with Mrs Biggs this week and taped the scapegoat last night.
Will miss the Olympics now they have finished, I think they have been wonderful for the country and given everyone a real lift. Good luck to Andy Murray in his final today. It's been a fab summer for British Sport.
Just watched all the school children Walking past in their new blazers looking very smart. Anyway enough waffle, have a good day all j x

    Morning all,

Grey here but no rain yet, got a small wash to put on. Need to drop dd at work then back to housework, would like to give downstairs a good going over.

I also need to do an online shop, JackieO I have used ocado for the last few weeks, they keep sending me a £20 off voucher, I must say the service is 2nd to none, and the quality is fantastic, they have an excellent basics range too, well worth a go I think.

Also need to do some baking its dd's last official day at her summer job tomorrow so I will make her some cakes to take in, I say last official day, as they keep asking her to do extra, so fingers crossed they still do.

Elona I made a stuffed marrow last week, and I must say I hated it :o I just dont like marrow, I have found a recipe for Lemon Curd (with marrow) a wartime recipe, so intend to try that, will report back.

Hung the roman blind yesterday in the lounge, and I am not 100% happy with it, its beautiful but it does not seen to 'sit' nicely when its folded up, any ideas ?

Toad out of the hole for dinner with veggies, and will go and see dad at lunchtime.

BB keeping everyting crossed for Maud xxxx

    Have good days all xx

    Good Morning All!
Been mia just recently and spent this w/e at a gathering with other bereaved parents so just getting back to normal as it were.
WM still not finished ( I hit the wrong programme!) but I'm hopeful of drying it all outside today. Feels fresh, but sun is shining and there's quite a breeze.
DS been in hospital again for the past few days and didn't sound "right" when we spoke last evening. Suspect he may have missed some of his regular medication - this often seems to happen during hospital stays!
Next few days horrendous with five yearly church inspection going on over three days...DH already disgruntled that I'm going to be so tied up.
Boiler service due at 8.30 am today....rang up....apparently he was called out to an emergence, but is nearly through and will arrive by 10.30am Hmm..he sounded as if I'd woken him up!
Not sure what we're eating today - really seem to be losing the plot atm.
BB, sorry to hear about Maud.
JackieO - are ocado still linked to Waitrose???
Anyway, best try to get on and get something actually done today!
    Take care of yourselves.

    Hello again!
Well the new job didn't work out :( the lady who left decided she wanted to come back! And as she can do more hours than me, is more experienced and the fact that I was still self-employed and not employed by the company... She gets the job! Ho hum.... Back to trying to get some work... Which redruby is making roman blinds! What is the problem? Make sure all your strings have been tied when it's level, undo the knots at the bottom, and let the blind hang all the way down, then carefully retie the knots, it often takes a few attempts to get it to hang perfectly. Let me know how you get on x

As for me, more chutney making today, lots of phone calls to make, adverts on Facebook to create, washing to do, house to clean, spare room chaos to sort, eBay stuff to list.... What was I thinking, I didn't have time to go to work anyway!!

Have a good one folks! :D

Ps: is it possible/would it taste right to do a courgette and apple chutney? We have a glut of apples and my hubby keeps coming home from work with ENORMOUS courgettes (!) that a work mate has a ton of, so just wondering if I can combine the two? Thanks x
  • Morning all

Hugs where needed - sorry I don't know enough about you all yet so can't comment individually - Who's Maud, I've a feeling she's a pet, hope I'm right and I'm not mistaking her for a child or relative, sorry if I've got it wrong x

So far today I've cleaned and hoovered, DH has fallen asleep in the LR [he was on night duty last night at the Residential Home for adults with LD] I was up till 2am - saw a toe rag trying to pinch stuff from a neighbours car so had that to sort out and now I'm waiting for the Police to turn up to take a statement - might be a long wait as they're not quick round here at doing stuff like that, they are busy doing other important things.

The rest of the day will be spent clearing downstairs of the tat that has built up over the hols and also washing - still way behind with that one

Hope you all have a good day

Looks as if it will be a nice day.

Going downstairs to make me and dh some brekkie and do a quick tidy round before workmen arrive.

Have a pile of clean laundry to sort out and dishwasher to unload then will do a quick once over of kitchen as dds arrive back home around lunchtime. Cooked a chicken yesterday which is in the fridge so will do a salad to have with it.

Need to phone hospital later about dd and visit in afternoon as well as tonight and make sure someone is home for builder etc.

Hug to all and see you later.

Forgot to ask - DH has been given a huge marrow and I want to cook it today.
Has anyone any fool proof ways to make the best of it?
I cut it in half and take all of the seeds out, then I fill it with my bolognaise recipe mince and chunks of mozzarella, pop the top back on, wrap in foil and put it into a tray of water and cook at 160C (Fan) for an hour or so ( you will know when it is cooked when you put a skewer in the marrow will be soft)
Or you can do a vegetarian style with lentils, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, mixed herbs and cheese ( if you don't like lentils use rice)

Morning all, sorry to hear about the job empress xx

This morning have taken ds2 to school, washed one load, sold and delivered a handbag, collected a dresser that I plan to paint and then sell on, started painting our hall, had ds1 collected by taxi, found the toy box that I have sold and will deliver on my way to pick up ds1 and got husband galvanised into making his various doctors appointments!

This pm will be picking up ds1 for his appointment with CAMHS then home and if the bit of the hall I have painted looks ok I shall continue with it. Tea this pm will be something from the freezer as I try to make space for the pre Christmas cook up! Dogs mopeing around cos it's raining so washing in dryer / conservatory. Must do ironing tonight too - yuk!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Thanks BB

I don't have mozzarella so might just use quorn mince if I can find it in the freezer, make up a bolognese type filling and add grated cheddar on top.

I tried baked marrow years ago and did not like it but maybe this time it will turn out better. Nerving myself to ring the hospital and see if and when dd gets a scan done on kidneys .

DDs due home from seeing their other sister down south around one ish and will tackle the marrow for tea tonight.

    Empress

Sorry about the job and hope things work out.

    Hugs to alll
