Bathroom Quote- Is it fair

Bathroom Quote- Is it fair

We have been quoted £2,400.
Most of the bathroom has already been removed including floor tiles, wall tiles & bath. The only items remaining is the shower & toilet. We are keeping the same toilet in same position.

This quote (Im assuming) includes:

installation of rolltop bath & tap including waste pipe work

installation of standard shower enclosure &tray including waste trap & pipe

installation mixer shower including hot & cold pipework.

If it doesn't include tiling and general finishing then it sounds expensive to me. Whats the full scope of work being quoted for rather than just an assumption?

It sounds outrageous to me, what's that, 2 days work for £2,400?

I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • Thanks for your replies. I did think it was high when OH told me. It was a quote from one of the sheds. We have bought the bathroom from them, however my OH has told them yes to the installation. No itemisation has been given just the price.
  • Get 2-3 other quotes. It sounds obscene!

Oh well then that accounts for it then.
We have bought the bathroom from them,
If you are happy with it then thats OK.
however my OH has told them yes to the installation.
Don't let him out on his own again then. He is a liability. Ring them and tell them you don't want the installation thank you at that price. I assume you are still within a "right to cancel" period. If they won't cancel the installation whilst leaving the items in place then cancel the whole lot and start again to contract for the bits only.
No itemisation has been given just the price.
You need to fully understand what they are doing for the money. Even site unseen I'm struggling really really hard to come up with a number more than 25% of the figure you've stated given for the SOW you've assumed.

    Yes and get more quotes.

  • £2400 sounds about right if it includes stripping the room, waste removal and tiling along with the bits you mention. If none of this is included cancel that installation and speak to an independant fitter or small company.

sentence in the lead post was incomprehensible?
