Over the past few days, when viewing webpages IE keeps crashing "IE has stpped working" "IE is checking for a soloution to the problem" Go to last session / go to home page.
I have a compact laptop with windows 7.
I'm happy with IE, and prefer not to change to another browser.
Any suggestions please?

Run it in no add-ons mode.

If it runs ok then the problem is an add-on. Re-enable them one by one till you find the problem.0 -

It probably is an add on issue. If not, a quick fix is:
Control Panel>Network & Internet>Internet Options>Security tab and DISABLE the "Enable Protected Mode" checkbox for all internet zones0 -

I am also experiencing similar problems which have come on out of the blue. All my security is up to date and apparently functioning.
I'm sorry but I don't understand about add ons - what are they and how do you add them back in??
In my case if I wait long enough the pages DO load just take longer than the old dial up!
Outlook is operating fine for email.
Help??:o0 -

Gonna have a go now so if I never appear on here again you'll know I got it wrong! Wish me luck.:o0 -
Well the problem is certainly with IE rather than anything else. Have downloaded Firefox and all is now running sweetly.:T
Just need to uninstall IE and try a fresh install but I gather that problems with IE are quite common?:eek:0 -
Need to uninstall IE and try again with it to see if Lineone webmail is happier than in Firefox.
Do I just do an uninstall from add/remove programs and is there a preferred site to use to download and reinstall IE from please? :eek:0 -
