Paypal At It Again

just withdrew some money into my bank account and its revieving it for 24 hours again, l thought they'd sorted it is anyone else having problems

I have the same problem. I made the withdrawal to my bank account on Thursday morning (6th) and it is STILL pending awaiting review. The Paypal website message at the time said it could take up to 21 hours, but the email confirmation said 72 hours. Why do they do this? What security checks are they performing? I've already validated my bank account. Is it legal for them to hold my money? I can't get an answer from them.

Any advice?

we had the same problem a cpuple of weeks ago and after 24 hours they returned the money back to my paypal account and charged us 50p for it, saying it was the banks who wouldnt accept it which was a lie, l thought it had been sorted out but obviously not

I bought a couple of items fro the same buyer, No automatoc postage discount. But each item after the 1st should be free.

So i paid the full amount anyway and send a message about the postage issue.

They refunded the postage and i got a message saying for security reasons the amount was being held in paypal and not returned to the bank account where the money came from.

Are they holding the money to get a fews days worth of interest?

They don't earn interest on held money in the UK, and pay it to charity where it is earned in the US.

Are you sure this is a problem? I noticed the message the past few times I have withdrawn money from Paypal but the money actually goes straight in to my bank once the withdrawl has been approved by Paypal whereas before it used to take 3 working days.

Just apply for the Paypal access card and you can withdraw your funds from any cash point. Charges you £2 though..

mine always gets paid back into my paypal account and l get charged 50p for it

had my paypal acess card for almost a year now....i don't have to worry about transfering to my bank anymore

Your withdrawal request status



For security reasons, we've had to delay your withdrawal request while we review it.
Your withdrawal request will be under review for up to 21 hours. After our review is complete, PayPal will release your funds. It can take an additional 2 hours for those funds to be deposited into your bank account.

It happens to me about 75% of the time, I just feel its paypals way of holding on to your money for an extra 24 hours.

They must be cursing the fact that they can no longer charge you a fiver to access your money that bit quicker!
