Paying cash is not advantageous at all, as its on the finance where they expect to make the real money.
Use one of the many online valuation tools to find out the market value and make your offer accordingly-but £2K off an £11K vehicle is not realistic, I doubt they're making more than £1K on it anyway.
If you want a much cheaper deal then you need to buy privately with all the risk that entails.

  • hi apart from the rude and sarcastic guy its a good discussion although a little negative.

it is possible to get more off the car in some circumstance. when i worked for a dealer, there were many times when we would accept lower.

20% lower no, but 5% sure, maybe more even. go for it

If you can pay the deposit or some of it (think its £100, but not sure) on a CC. That way the CC company are liable if anything should go wrong.
  • For a car costing 10995 I'd be looking at paying 9800-10k,if I couldnt get it for that I'd walk.Then again I wouldnt buy a Scenic in a million years,I'd go for a S-max.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.
  • I would say:

Check prices for similar models on Autotrader -- both for the Renault and your PX. Remember these are asking prices and the sale prices may be a bit less.

For that sort of money you should get at least a 2011 with less than 10,000 on the clock.

There are better and more reliable cars than Renaults around with less depreciation.
