I wasnt going to get in to the debate of which bike to buy but as you hace suggested going to Decathlon then I think this is also a good buy, I know you may not agree as it is a hybrid and it weighs an extra 3kg

a £50 saving though
A good second hand bike is def worth looking at though
It would be a better buy at £200 without suspension folks.0 -

I dont agree, the suspension may not be the best but as it is on the front so it wont take away any of the drive through the pedals but would make it more comfortable to ride over any rough surfaces and if you ever felt like riding some park tracks at weekend0 -

wont take away drive?
where do you think the energy for all that bobbing comes from?
for a commuter,if it must have suspension then a cheap set of Toras or the like with lockout are better0 -

Not much bobbing with just front suspension
of course it is a different story with rear suspension which is why even most professional MTB bikers use hard tails
see you have a mate though0 -

Nope - there's plenty.
I commute on an MTB with Reba front forks that lock-out. These are pretty good quality forks and if I don't lock them out there's plenty of energy sapping bobbing. I would'nt dream of commuting on a hardtail that didn't lock out.0 -
