Cancelling a rolling monthly contract Problem

Hi all,
Just want to check that what Three are telling me is correct.
When I came to the end of my 24 month contract I switched to a sim only 1 month rolling contract. This was on the 28th August.
A couple of days ago I found a really good deal elsewhere so decided to go for it and cancel with Three. When phoning to cancel they say that because I am in still within the 14 day cancellation period they would have to revert my price plan back to the previous one (more expensive) in order to cancel. They said this would mean being charged for a full month at the old price.
Is that correct? It may seem daft asking but Three's customer service aren't always the most honest bunch. cheers

I don't know the specifics but you have to give 30 days notice to cancel. I have recently taken on one of these contracts and I feel sure that she said after your first month it is 30 days notice, but on the pack it said you can cancel at any time giving 30 days notice - which implies (as your situation) that you could if you wish sign up and request to cancel on the same day should you so desire?
The 14 day cancellation is there to protect you, I would think, if you don't use the SIM and change your mind - once you have used it, then you cannot cancel and are stuck for the month?
I am not sure how they can go back to your old plan, as your contract ended and you are now on the new rolling month contract (so the earlier one is irrelevant?).

It sounds right and this is why, you are on the current tarrif until the next billing cycle which seems to be around the 28th September, as it's only the 8th then your sim only deal has not started yet, as you have found a good deal take the 'hit' and be off after the PAC transfer.0
