Cold call from Hello Mobile(s)
My wife has just had a call from someone claiming to be from Hello Mobile on 08455480049 who was apologising that an order she had placed some time ago for a Blackberry Bold and an HTC Desire both on O2 hadn't been delivered and he was sending a replacement. I explained that no one had ordered these phones but he then started saying that they had a better deal on on iPhone 4S or Samsung S3 on Orange. He said he had our bank details and quoted what he said was the last 4 digits of her credit card (it wasn't the last four of any of her or my cards).
He was most insistent that she had ordered the phones and that this call was about replacements and had already been sent.
I am guessing that this is some sort of scam but don't know what happens if someone tries to deliver the package and (if it arrives) someone signs for it and takes delivery. Will we have entered in a contract for two phones we don't want and didn't order?
There is a legitimate company called Hellomobile.co.uk that have a disclaimer that it isn't them on their website here hellomobile.co.uk/contact.asp so I think someone is trying it on.

Sounds like a scam, but you might want to call O2 in case someone's used your info to fraudulently get handsets.
If O2 have no acc's in your name or address then its a scam, if they have they need to pass it you their fraud team to investigate.0 -

Interesting that they think they have the last four digits of my wife's credit card but those don't match any card we have.
Not sure if I need to do anything or not.0 -

Perhaps the solicitors that have details of an accident you didn't have or the people that can get you £3012 for PPI mis-selling that, again, you didn't have, supplied them with details of the credit card you don't have.
They sound just like the business partners that you have been missing all those years.0
