PAC Transfer Not Possible on a Weekend?
Dear All
I have a PAC in order to transfer my number/cancel my contract which expires after 30 days. Today is day 30 - I now find out that apparently transfers cannot take place on a weekend?! Is there any way round this (no suggestions of I should have done it sooner, unfortunately I don't have a Tardis!) as I am going to get hit with the full monthly charge if I don't get my PAC used today. This seems slightly unfair if you have 30 days but you aren't in a position to use them on a weekend?
Many thanks

There's no way around it, the networks only open their systems for porting Monday to Friday. I don't think the teams are even in over the weekends. . .
Its a back office dept not part of customer services, so they don't operate at weekends. . .0 -
Okay I am even more stupid than I thought. Apparently day 1 is the day that you give notice, therefore it apparently expired yesterday . Also I should have apparently used it at least three working days before the end of the 30 day period to allow it to leave by day 30.
Clearly having 24 month contracts has scambled my brain as I used to do this regularly and now cannot perform a simple number transfer.
I am now as a result paying as much this month as I have paid for one year of my past contract due to successfully navigating the mobiles.co.uk cashback process, so I suppose I cannot complain too much (but still very annoyed with myself as work got in the way of clear thinking!!).

you will pay pro-rata if you use the pac, although you will get the rest refundedDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I've used PACs on a couple of occasions. Both times (with different networks) I was told the date on which the code would expire.0

The letter from Orange does not mention an expiry date. It wouldn't cost much to include the actual expriry date on the letter (though I appreciate it is not in their interests to do so).
If you use it part way through the 30 days, then I understood that you still pay for the rest of the 30 day period (hence waiting until the last minute ... well beyond in my case!).
Ah well, an expensive lesson, could be worse.
Summary for other readers, the 30 days INCLUDES the day the PAC is issued. It is expected that you will use it before the 30 days is up (so don't leave it until the last few days...!). And you don't appear to be able to get it processed on weekends.
