Didn't originally answer post as Paris was specified but I would add that flying into Nice (a common easyjet destination and not as dear as Barcelona to get to) is also good for this. Camping du Pylone, for example, is about 15 minutes by train from Nice airport (the station is about 20 minute walk from the airport, then the other station (biot) is about 5-10 mins walk to campsite entrance.
We booked independently and the guy was happy to pick us up for a small charge for the 15 mins journey (but we are going with the train anyway as kids are crap in the car, even for 15 mins !!)
This site features in quite a few of the brochures but we had to book independently as their mobile homes only suit 5 and there are 6 of us ! It cost us £250 for the van for the week and the flights were about £250 inc tax for 5+infant.0 -
Hi
I don't like flying so always travel to France and Spain by train. Its much nicer than travelling by train in the Uk as the track is so smooth.
We once spent 7 hours on a train to the south of france and it was effortless and seemed more like 2 hours. The kids were able to move around. Visit the buffet and on some trains, plug in and listen to music. On one train in Spain we even had a chance to watch a movie!
We've done the journey by ferry and le shuttle taking the car but in the smaller towns in France you can't always use the loo in the garages unless you buy petrol there. Some of the motorway services leave a lot to be desired especially the smaller ones.
For information on train travel to europe we use https://www.seat61.com, we have also used Rail Canterbury to actually book the tickets.
Hope this helpsThe Cabbage

hi-,- when we went to eurocamp La Croix du Vieux Pont last year, we flew to paris (cheap enough) and then went with 'grey shuttle' to transfer us to the actual campsite. this is a min van - seats 8 passengers and driver is very friendly! picked us up on return journey, and cost 300 euros perreturn journey. split between us all, we felt that this was very reasonable for door to door service! can highly recommend this site aswell for non drivers, as the have a coach trip once a week to eurodisney and once a week to paris. this increases to twice a week in high season. the camp site have a list of taxi firms etc. good luck!!
forgot to say, site is approx 1 1/2 hours from airport. (Orly)0 -
Have you checked out Ryanair prices to an airport near the site that you are looking at. Or other airlines???? We flew to Montpellier and then caught a train to a Haven site along the southern coast of France. Where were you hoping to stay? Even Spain is easy, with cheap flights and easy train connections. We have flown to Reus and then stayed in holiday parks. Really easy.
do u have any info on sites on the coast near montpellier? i am planning a hol by train from london (crewe actually) to montpellier, to see the millau viaduc.
would like a few days on the coast and a few in montpellier.
thanks
