As long as you don't tick the box saying 'I accept PayPal' then it should be OK.

if you have a personal account and can't accept card payments then the best thing to do is not tick the box saying you accept paypal, but you can put a note saying you can accept paypal from funds already in a paypal account

verified, when you set up your bank account and paypal deposit two amounts into your bank, you are able to pay 'instant bank transfer' or just paypal funding.0

Well it definitely hasn't made any difference on payments I have received whether the buyer has the money in the account or not, I still get charged the percentage 3,4 + 20p for every payment. I would like to know how to get payments in without paying......:rolleyes:0

i get charged 3.4% plus 20p to receive every payment, no matter where the funds have come from - existing funds, debit card, credit card or bank account0

if you are selling, and only have a personal paypal account, you are not allowed to tick the "I accept Paypal" box on your listing..0

Also remember if you are using basic account on ebay as a seller and don't of course tick the 'I accept paypal' box then many bidders won't even see your auctions. It is possible to set up default browsing to see only auctions where paypal is accepted, as I have done.
A premier account does charge for every single transaction you receive including those from an existing balance, but you do need to balance those fees against the sales you lose if you don't take paypal. Sometimes every single one of my auctions is paid for by paypal for weeks on end and the convenience suits me and my lifestyle. On the rare ocassions I get a cheque I usually can't get to pay it in for days, or even a week or so and end up shipping goods well before the cheque even hits my bank account, let alone clears.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I did have a premier account but kept paying fees so down graded to personal account. I've just sold something on ebay for £225. So to not pay fees I need payment from funded accounts right? I don't really want to pay the £7 ebay fee and then whatever paypal fees are on top of that? I think I'm not alone in saying ebay/paypal are a complete rip off and need some stiff competition..
I would sell items without paypal and use nochex/ moneybookers or standard cheque but people are so dead set on paypal and are prepared to pay fees which i find strange..
Thanks0 -

When you say 'people' do you mean sellers? Obviously it doesn't make any difference to a buyer whether they pay with pp or not - it doesn't change the price. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
