Pay Pal account - personal - help pls!

I have set up a personal paypal account, except I can only received £250 per month to it (thats fine) and ONLY 2 debit/credit cards per year. I said in my listing i didnt accept debit/credit because of this 2 people tried to pay me via debit so i refused the money due to the fees, and said i would revise their invoice and accept their cards......... I MIS READ the paypal and thought it said £250 per year and 2 cards per month (it is the othr way around!)

I plan on doing some selling this year, not megabucks, but is it acceptable to say no debit/credit cards???

Also do you have to pay for a premier account (i think thats what it is called) ? woudl it be worth doing this ??

If you tick the box 'I accept PayPal' when you list an item then you have to accept all PayPal payments (funds already in PayPal, debit and credit cards).

If you don't want to accept debit/credit cards then don't tick the box saying 'I accept PayPal'.

For a seller you really need a premier account. You pay fees on all payments that you receive (3.4%+20p).

If Ive stated in my listing that I wont accept credit/debit cards then surely that is acceptable? ... looks like i might be back to the old cheques!

I have a premier account and if the buyer pays with funded pp ie pp from their bank account, it doesnt charge me to accept the payments.

I think you can say in your listing something like I accept PayPal with funds already available. However you can't tick the 'I accept PayPal' box or place any other PayPal logo on your listing.

Are you sure you have a premier account?

Yep as I had to upgrade it to accept some card payments.

surely the fee will automatically be deducted from the buyers payment to you....

Premier accounts are charged on any payments received.

I agree - I have never had any PayPal payments without paying their charges! I wish I could! Something seems strange there:confused:

Hi I accept Paypal and have a personal account. I make it clear that i dont accept cards and if anyone pays with a card i refuse. I have had a personal account for ages and it seems to be ok, a lot of people are verified and can pay this way. If they are verified then send an invoice with the paypal link.
