  • :j:j well done to you £25 saved, and good move with the lovefilm. we got rid of sky and moved to that instead, £10 a month for 2 discs unlimited use but has saved loads in hiring films from blockbusters & £40+ on sky etc.. we make movie nights instead of going out!

with your first saving you could top cupboards and freezer up with as much as poss to cover the tighter times, then the rest to pay off. Amazing how much you can get in the offers.

i have a monthly food/petrol allowance and then a weekly cash fund for whatever we fancy/need. i like seeing the cash weekly then im less likely to spend it stupidly on rubbish as it doesnt seem like 'real' money on cards lol

ive run out of ebay stuff pretty much, went on clearing spree a while ago, even loads of SHOES  which is shocking for me a shoe queen!
    Peak £52,195.89  24/9 £48,892.24 - GOAL C/Cards under 10k by 24th Jan 2013

yeah i know what you mean with weekly allowances is easier. i find it easier doing it weekly. im going to do what you said with the food. ive got my chest freezer coming bk in the next week or so too, (it was at MIL's as we didnt have room), so will be stocking that up with some offers too, my fridge has the essentials .. and a few extras the freezer is still full ... and chest freezer round at MIL's half full. my larder cupboard is half full. i did get 1700 pg tips tea bags the other day for about £13 so thats around 3 months of tea bags sorted... i drink alot of tea. :o

i will soon run out of stuff to eBay, :( ... but im not going to loose hope. i will have the debt paid by new year ,,, or as close to it as possible :o

off to pick LO up from pre-school catch up later. xx

I'm so glad I found your thread! I do not have debts but your frugal lifestyle is making me even more eager to save for the baby fund :D (the "waiting to TTC" crowd is everywhere :rotfl: )
    thats £25 saved
    £10 for laptop insurance
    £10 for which subscription
    £5 for mobile phone insurance

dp doesn't want me to cancel love film as he said it will cost more if we wanted to rest a dvd ... so thats staying ... but i have crossed it off the list so i dont cancel it .. else i will get confused. hope everyone is well, hugs to those that/need want one xxx

I have to admit, I agree with your OH. We decided against taking any TV package, and there is no cinema where we're moving to (so you have to add the cost of petrol to the cinema tickets) so we are probably going to at least try netflix or lovefilm online. They both have a trial period for free, we will see :)

I wish I were a keen ebayer like you! I'm yet to make the first step into selling on ebay. I'm always worried people will complain and leave negative feedback even if I describe the item properly... I have a few clothes that are now too big that could go on there...

Good luck with the ebaying :)

thankyou hun and thanks for reading , I love ebay and its helping me to de-clutter too so its a win win....
ive got a new DFD of next march as i think it will be more realistic and know i will get really down if i focus on the new year and then it isn't cleared by then so march is my aim. may get it cleared before then... but once its all gone we are going to start TTC so i have something to look forward to although i am really worried that when the time comes DP will change his mind, so feeling a bit down today. i want it so much but i know ill be heart broken if DP decides to back down once the debt is cleared. hope you are well xx

Oh hunny, don't feel down :( Have you tried talking to your partner? In my experience, men need more time to get used to things that we women would not hesitate to do. And vice versa :rotfl: The more you talk about it (without sounding too obsessed), the more time he'll have to get used to it :)

So March is your ultimate DFD before TTC. So funny, because this is my ideal weight date before TTC :D So you're trying to earn £ while I'm trying to lose lbs :p Terrible pun, I know! :o

I am going to follow your example and put some stuff on ebay. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't sell! I'll wait for the free insertion weekends and in the meantime, I'll browse the ebay forum to gather some tips.

I am also listing some old games/DVDs with Music MagPie. I will also sell some phone to mazuma. I discovered CeX, which gives a much better price on phones, etc, but apparently, they have a very bad reputation... Have you heard of them?

Good luck to you. I'm subscribing to your thread because I want to follow your journey :) (and I find the DFW boards extremely educative as people are so resourceful on there! All I have learnt about budgeting, I have learnt from reading the DFW threads!!!!)

    xxx
