evening o-mummy << soz its just more affectionate lol :rotfl:

well done on efforts so far, and reading through it makes me realise i really must start my diary.. im never short of words to type and my head its constantly filled with stuff over stuff that stops me sorting other stuff so im going to get it done. even just to keep me on the right track.. this place has been amazing and filled with such like minded peeps..

i like tha your list is still going.. reckon you should attack at least one of them tomorrow, dont set out for all as if your like me you can sometimes feel down if you dont achieve even the smallest task..1/2 at a time and be proud as punch..

... especially one of the subscriptions.. tho hang fire on lovefilm or reduce it.. i found its been a money saver for me as when we didnt have it a sneaky sky film was bought or dvd hire from shop..

...and defo the weekly budget!!! DO IT!! im 2ish months into a budget for me and the fella, working so far and starting to feel guilty when i slip up

little steps and keep positive :T:T:T

thanks so much for the advice will be taking it all on board. LO is at preschool tomorrow so really hoping i can make a start at my lists. i've got another 20 items to list on eBay so going to try and get them on tonight and tomorrow every penny helps. and OH has agreed as soon as its paid we can start TTC a sibling for LO. so the sooner its paid the sooner my wish for LO to have a sibling will come true ... when i do loose motivation this is what pushes me to carry on, xxx

  • Well my drive is 100% BABIES!! Recently turned 30 and our friends who have started their familys is making us feel a little left behind, there's 5 couples in our close group, 2 have already had a bunch of mini me's, 1 is due december and the other is planning for summer next year.. so we'll be the last and few years behind that. its a little frustrating as we are all in completely different situations, a few of them dont understand or truly respect the debt issue we have and resort to a bit of micky take about being the last. thankfully i have an amazing friend who's been dealing with her debt past 5 yrs, finally in the clear and going all out for saving ready for her 2013 baby making year as she calls it :rotfl:

i really think 1 of your first goals should be your budget. depending on how/when you receive the household income, have a review of your last few months spending and see where you can save. i found online statments brill for this. exported them to excel and filtered out the bills/dd's etc then looked at what we where spending and where. so much was going on litttle purchases for lunches, weekends, silly non essential shopping in supermarkets, TAKE AWAYS AND DRIVE THRUS!! once you can see it as a lump sum its a wake up call, we had something like £150 on mac'd alone, just £'s here and there adding up

now ive set up a budget spreadsheet and on a trial with a set weekly cash spend for those nonsense items. if i gave us nothing thats when i stress out at having 'no money' and try to make myself feel better by buying crap. Be realistic with it and work your way down

  • oh and with the cutting up card thing, decide whether you actually need it. i thought about ours like that, we have 5+ but im going for put them out of sight, dont carry them round, and see how you get on. if you can manage without touching them, it'll give you a positive boost that you're in control x

thanks. i find doing a weekly budget easier by splitting DP wages into how many weeks their is until he gets paid again. i've always done this so it will be weekly budgets. after he is paid each month i leave the money in the bank to cover the direct debits and pay most of our bills fortnightly. i have joined the weekly spend challenge where i am including everything except debt repayments and although i have gone over budget its made me more aware and im not parting with the money as easy ... unless its going on the debt repayments. but i am going to start budgeting alot better so hopefully can stick to the budget better. will be working out a budget over the weekend for next week. fingers crossed this time we stick to it or come in under budget. with the credit card i was going to put it in my FIL's safe so we cant use it... then cut it up x:o
