F1 Autocentres Bristol - Avoid!
I booked my car in for a MOT Test recently at F1 Autocentres Bristol(Days Road) and the service was absolutely appalling. They lure you with cheap MOTs and then try to get you to pay for unnecessary repairs at inflated prices.
The staff (Craig and Sorbas) have no idea of customer service and are con artists. Don't fall for their scare tactics and always get a second opinion from another garage. In my case, they became increasingly rude and hostile when I told them that I would be getting my car repaired by another garage and also threatened to fail my car in the re-test if the repairs were not done to 'their standards'. I was also made to wait for an hour beyond my appointment time before they even looked at my car just because they could!
I was quoted around £400 to fix the MOT failures after the test by F1 Autocentres Bristol, but eventually got everything fixed for less than £80 by another garage and passed the re-test. Some of the items(brake discs, pads, etc.) quoted by the F1 cowboys didn't even need replacing! Utterly pathetic sad bunch of spanners running the F1 Autocentres Bristol branch! Avoid at all costs.

Most of these type of garage encourage their staff to work up sales, if they didn't take "commission" (of sorts) they wouldn't do it.
Some don't even realise that the business model encourages this!
Hence I avoid all such establishments.......“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Brake discs are favourites. A different branch told me that my front discs were below acceptable thickness. Armed with the manufacturer's spec. I asked how far below that they were. Hadn't even been measured. In the event they were both 2mm above the replacement point. Only place where a rear brake cylinder was without fail alleged to be leaking every time the car went for MOT. The last straw was when they incorrectly assembled the rear brakes and left it with loads of banging and clanking every time the brakes were applied. I haven't been near the place since and have no intention of ever doing so again.0 -

I got in touch with F1 Autocentres' Head Office following my ordeal at the Bristol branch. The following day, I received a call from the Regional Manager responsible for the Bristol centre (Mr. Ian Keeley) who was really polite, apologised for the experience that I had and provided a full refund of the MOT fees that I had paid as a goodwill gesture.0

What result do you think you would have received if you had not posted on MSE ?0 -
