Lloyds CPD will it ever be removed ??

I understand there are other threads on Lloyds CPD but this one is a little different.

I was in at the bank today to convert my savings account into Joint names, and I was seen by the manager, I noticed on the screen there was 'Offer OD Limit £3000', I asked him if I could have that and he said no as I have a Credit Policy Decline Marker on my account.

Now I know I have one default, and to be fair Lloyds were the only bank to give me a full account back in 2008 with this default.

This default has been paid and drops of at the end of next month, after which my Credit Report should be normal, does this mean (And he did not know), that when Lloyds gets its next monthly feed after it drops off that the CPD marker will be removed (As my credit file will be clean so to speak) or am I stuck with this CPD for life !.

Sorry for the long post but it would seem that there system is offering me things (Which I never get on internet banking) but I can't have them !, which seems a bit pointless offering and then saying no !.

I would wait till all your files are clear.

Then go into branch armed with your experian and call credit reports and ask them to send the information to higher lending and they will get the marker reviewed.

Just a thought - may be it's quite good if you don't get offered any overdraft?

Saves you from having to pay the charges for it, and from rude awakenings if they call it in with very little notice because you have used it too much for their liking.
  • Lloyds have a monthly feed from the credit reference agencies apparently around the 20th of the month.

The CPD marker may get removed at that point once the default has gone. I'd wait a month after that date, so default for example comes off your credit file on the 31/10/2012, I'd wait until after the 1st December 2012 before asking again if you qualify and before applying.

Not sure as I only had a quick look at the screen and seen the 'Offer Overdraft', but I NEVER get any offers in internet banking, but my wife who shares the joint account gets offers to have a Credit Card with a £3650 limit, loan up to £25k and an additional current account, and I dont get any of those.

I would certantly think with a default on your files they would of most probably CPD you for all lending.

But would the CPD go when the default goes ?.

It might and might not but it's not guaranteed.
  • You can have CPD against one or more products apparently. So you might have CPD on Overdraft but a offer on Credit Card or vise versa.

I think there may be a ovevrall CPD which is across all the products and if you have that it stops you getting anything regardless of whether it says Offer on O/D but not sure.

I'd suspect there is a adverse flag against the external CRA, which is blocking all the offers at moment and once that's gone the offers may start appearing.

Don't know about internet banking though, never seen any offers appear on mine either.
