We've finally exchanged contracts on our first house today.
With 9 weeks between the offer being accepted and today I've had a lot of time to read over these threads.
Wanted to say thank you for everyones opinions and suggestions all across the board - they've helped me understand the process and given me encouragement along the way.
Now to just starting packing up and living out of boxes

Hi Happy C. unfortunately we didnt exchange today apparently there is a problem with some paperwork from our buyers now:mad: My solicitor has assured me it should now be sorted by Monday in order to exchange. Getting more and more nervous and just want 'that phonecall' saying we've exchanged . Hopefully will be posting on Monday with some good news:).0

Short chain but apparently the buyer at the bottom hasn't actually got the mortgage offer in writing.. although their solicitor agreed to the original exchange/completion dates. Latest was that the offer was sent out on Monday but has not yet arrived. Personally I think they are taking the p*** with this.
We just want to exchange, as we are going into rented and have the rental arranged. We don't want to sign the rental agreement until we have exchanged. Don't mind a bit of overlap between moving to rented and completion but need to have exchanged.
Trying (unsuccessfully) not to be too stressed.0
