    :hello:Good Evening all :)

Thank you very much locarr for the new thread :T

I was lurking a lot at the tail end of the last thread. My appologies but I do find life very difficult at the moment and like others have been saying, this thread feels like my second home. It's horrible to feel betrayed and worthless in real life let alone when you try and escape from it to somewhere that has previously restored my faith in humanity only to find it destroyed. For these reasons, because of how much I've gained from this thread, how much I rely on it and how much I know others do too, I feel that it would be frivolous for us to not post/lurk even if we are hurt, as doing this will ensure the permanent demise of the Elite and that be a great loss. One that I am not prepared to accept.

So here I am, reporting for duty :D

Nikki the APG thread was a wonderful idea and thank you very much for starting it in an attempt to restore the community feel that we have worked so hard to build. Please do not take the decision for it to be closed personally, it wasn't your fault and you weren't to know the rules :A

No offence meant towards you Redfox :A You do a fantastic job with us xx

Lastly on the same subject I want to say that the introduction of newbies to this thread is welcomedby me with open arms. If you feel that you are likeminded to us, as have so many that have joined us recently please do not take the recent uproar personally. I am sorry to each and every one of you that has joined | lovely thread and contributed with your finds, results or advice and support for others. Equally I know that there are a lot of people that thank posts but do not post themselves and yes it would be lovely to hear from you but I can understand not posting. I don't even work at the moment and even before the APG glitches, I was finding it incredibly hard to catch up, let alone post. Please don't go into hiding and please understand that I am sure, the frustrations of late are derived from sheer panic at preserving this lovely group, that we would love you to be a part of too :A

Come on kids, cuddle in :D

Fudge-cake I agree with everything you've said here. Your words are far better than anything I could write myself. You always know the right thing to say. Thank you.
Nikkilala- I panicked for a minute yesterday when I read your post saying that you had had enough. Thank god your too addicted to this place to stay away!( you know you love it! ) Lets all hold the fort, normality will be upon us soon.

Love and kisses to all, I'm off to read the rest of last nights ramblings.

Last month I did a project with the kids on endangered species. The kids are contributing to an endangered species encyclopaedia (group work with other home ed kids that is being bound together for the kids to keep).
We looked at a few exposes, footage taken secretly of turtles, dugongs and other species being brutally killed. I was in tears and utterly heartbroken. I cannot understand how this mindless violence towards helpless, gentle creatures goes on :(

It is so so sad to hear/read things like this. Makes me ashamed tbh of the greed, mememe attitude that is responsible for most of it. Been involved in animal welfare for most of my adult life and evry time I read something of this nature it still reduces me to tears.:(:(

There has been a brief update, re pilot whales.
There are 20-22 whales that have been trapped. It could be 2 days before they are slaughtered which means they will be extremely stressed by now.
You can help by contacting your Japanese embassy and voicing your concerns. They will be receiving lots of calls today lol.:A

    This is really sad news:(
  • Forgot to say morning - going to read back for a while before duty calls and hope and pray that last night was peaceful on here.

eta - just read the post by Mrs stinkface (didn't want to use the malaprop one:D:D although its extremely funny - laughing at the name btw - not you hun x) and couldn't agree more with her sentiments. Very well said, if I may say so. :T:T:T:T:T
