Moving to Australia Orange Contract Migration + PAYG

Hi guys
I've been an Orange Business customer for many years now and luckily I've been given the opportunity to move to Australia in the next month.
I understand that I cannot directly migrate to Orange Australia and a new account needs to be set up on arrival, which is fine.
My current contract runs until May 2013 and obviously it would be too expensive to maintain this contract in Australia, so I have arranged with a family member (who has been an Orange customer since 1995) to continue the contract as agreed in full with another family member using the account after my departure. I know the alternative to this would be to buy out the contract but £180 of dead money isn't something I can afford right now.
I have spoken to Orange business support to arrange this migration. I also requested that my current number be transferred to a PAYG sim card which I could take with me to Australia and continue to use and either my family member bring their PAYG number to the contract or Orange issue them a new number. I was told that this would not be possible.
Has anyone had experience in this type of situation? I've spoken to CS, Retentions and Account migrations and all seem to have the same rigid policy regarding this sort of migration. Still awaiting a reply to Orange's executive office also.
I'm trying to fulfil my contractual obligation and to additionally spend money on Orange's services - this is frustratingggggg!
Kind Regards
UD

This is a norm that any contract gets terminated when you port or transfer the number.0

Thanks for the quick reply, I understand this normal practice.
Was really wondering if anyone has found a way around this or had intervention from higher levels at Orange?
Anyone?0 -
It's always been said that this two way number porting is not possible, and I've never heard of any special case as an exception.0

Okay, cheers for the replies. Guess I'll have to sack off my number then..
Really frustrating, esp when I could take the irresponsible route and just leave the country!0
