Don't satnavs get nicked out of cars and motorhomes? I don't drive but was under the impression people removed car stereos/ control panel and satnavs.

Way ahead of you: the Bluetooth earpiece was my epic fail at persuading her to stop. Like most drivers she doesn't like criticism or nagging, least of all from 'young' upstarts who don't even drive!
I believe she is generally in slow moving/ stopped traffic - I've certainly never seen her do it when whizzing along - but it's still unsafe and illegal hence trying to find a solution.
Using a bluetooth isn't illegal - and unless going via a proper satnav is the only thing which is actually likely to work well.0 -
Sometimes. But you put them in the glove compartment along with the holder when you leave the car.
My mate had a car whose spare wheel got nicked as it was mounted under the car. Now he has a solution, but it doesn't half make his suit pocket bulge.
:rotfl: Thank you, but I don't think they'd go for leaving anything of value in the glovebox in the car, tho they could put it in the safe in the motorhome. She might put it in the boot when shopping, but would take it up to the apartment overnight ... both of which are useless if she forgets to take them out again, which she will.
At my mother's pace the apartment is five minutes from the apartment, there and back so she won't want to go back for it. This is why I was considering replacing the existing mobile, she does remember to carry that and it slots into her small handbags.mobilejunkie wrote: »Using a bluetooth isn't illegal - and unless going via a proper satnav is the only thing which is actually likely to work well.
As I said in the OP she never remembers to find or put the Bluetooth earpiece in.
I am really looking for one gadget for ease of storage, use and portability, something that she won't forget. Maybe I am looking for something that doesn't exist and we need a total rethink, but that is part of the reason I have started researching in September! Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Personally I'd just call the police, tell them she keeps making calls when driving, and ask them what they suggest. Maybe just a talking-to would get her to stop.
Anyway, if she won't use a Bluetooth earpiece I don't know what other options there are. I don't think voice control would work if the phone was in a holder, the car would be too noisy, plus she wouldn't be able to hear phone calls and they wouldn't be able to hear her.0
