Moving home

I am in contract with AOL and about to move home.
The move is only half a mile.
I have to tell AOL about change of address but if I get BT to transfer my existing phone number will the internet connection continue to work or do AOL have to physically do something.

OR would you advise to get new phone number at new address and get AOL to make the change. Would AOL still continue to work at my current address when I give them notice of the house move?

Any advice please.

BT won't touch your internet connection,you'll need to get BT (Phone) & AOL (BBand) to do a cease at your old address & a re-provide at the new address.

If I have a new phone number installed at my new home and then inform AOL of my move, will AOL immediately switch off the internet at the old home and make me wait for a while before making their changes or will my service be uninterrupted?

This assumes that the new property is on the same exchange. If it's not, you can't transfer the number.
