no too sure if i should claim

my daughter spilt water on our wooden dining table yesterday,and today i have noticed a mark where the water was and also the wood is raised slightly.i have accidental damage cover for the table and chairs which runs out at the beginning of december,if i try to make a claim will they not say it is wear and tear as it is nearly three years old,so do people think i should try and clain so they can fix it.

    It's not wear and tear. So they cannot reject your claim on those grounds.

    If this was a policy covering accidental damage you bought from the furniture shop then you may as well claim assuming the repairs will be more than any excess.

    But if you are considering a claim off your house cover then find out how much the repairs will be and check it's going to be cost effective to have this on your record.

    never thought about the excess,will need to see what it is

    i think you need to double check. Bound to be sections about what excess applies for certain claims.

    Name the company and im sure someone will know what the excess is.

    Sounds very much like this is cover bought alongside the product, in which case OP, you've probably paid for the table and chairs twice over anyway and should definitely submit the claim.

    I didnt say there is bound to be an excess. Read it again.

    There is bound to be a section on excesses applicable to different claims.
