I didnt say there is bound to be an excess. Read it again.

There is bound to be a section on excesses applicable to different claims.

You misread my reply to your incorrect post saying there was "bound" to be a section on excesses.

I quoted you in full, and pointed out that with this type of policy there wasn't "bound" to be one at all.

Your authoritative post telling the OP to check again as there was bound to be something in her policy about excesses was incorrect, and I tried to educate you.

    Why not stand corrected?
  • I've seen this wording and to me also there doesn't appear to be an excess. There are many exclusions though, one of which is damage caused 'by deliberate damage caused by any persons, including children' so when submitting your claim, don't give the insurer any cause to think it was anything other than accidental.

The insurer will probably appoint someone to see if a repair would be possible (and more economic).

why would you think i have paid for it twice over??

Because buying such cover at the point of sale is usually massively overpriced.

£40 for 3 years cover does not seem overpriced to me
  • Depends on the price of the table, if it was £2k then £40 for cover sounds reasonable, but as always the true value will only be revealed if you pursue the claim.
