It'll say in the Application Type box. The one from Camelot for example, says Unrecorded Enquiry.0

As far as I know, only entries such as 'credit card application' or 'loan application' are credit searches (and thus seen by other potential lenders on your report), anything such as 'generic check', 'address check', 'audit', 'quotation' or 'unrecorded' are only seen by you. Comparison sites don't record the initial search as a 'credit search'0

Having looked at it in a bit more detail, and using the info you guys have given, it's not as bad as I thought.
There are 6 applications for credit cards, though three of them are with my bank even though I applied once and appealed once, and 4 are for applications for current accounts.
Thank you for your help folks

Hi,
Here is the first part copied
Number ofcredit accounts (including those settled) 20
Amount ofavailable credit (excluding mortgages) £6,419
% of yourtotal credit being used (excluding mortgages) 58%
Number ofaccounts overdue 0
Number ofmissed or late repayments in the last year 0
I have an O/D facility, but never use it.
Highest limit on a single card is £6800, but increasing to £8900 next month, £3500 owed, but will be zero by the weekend.
The others are £3600, zero owed, and £4800, £3500 owed.
I won't be applying for anything until next year when we may replace our car.
How does that sound?

Why is this happening if you already have £6k available?
That wont help when you come to applying for a new card as you will have more 'available credit'.0 -

Not sure why it's happening, I can only assume it's because I've been a good boy
And to be honest, I won't be applying for any cards for the foreseeable future.
I'm almost debt free, by my reckoning, come January, I will be.
