Of course but since you are a man you would know the difference between a fallacy and a phallic symbolmultitasking is a phallicy anyway, you cannot really do more than one thing at a time, you cannot edit a word doc and powerpoint doc simulataneously, you cannot play a game and watch a film simulataneously. You might have 3 or 4 apps open but you are only ever using 1.

First problem. None of the Curry's/Dixons/PCWorld have a fully-working non-demo Playbook in-store. It is non-existent. So, there is simply no way i can try the device myself. (other than perhaps steal one or beg the manager crying in-store until he calls security or the police)
If no one here knows the answer to my bluetooth question then let me amend it: Can one transfer a file from a Macbook to a Playbook via wifi? If Yes then i would be interested to know how.
Lastly, this "sideloading" of Android thing. Why do i need to "sideload" Android apps? can i not just go an app store and download the apps & games that i like? And again, how would i know if an app is from RIM or Google? if say we have 60,000 apps "in general" in the App World. So, would that mean some of them are actual Android apps? Or are Android apps be "on top" of the 60,000 figure? I would like a device that i can just download stuff directly to a market or app store. Easier isn't it?0 -

When you order online, you have seven working days to evaluate the thing or to return it for a full refund.0 -
Thanks to all posters - just ordered one online for delivery on Tuesday (I live only 1½ miles from a store that has them in stock but did ordered online to take advantage of DSR).0

You can wifi transfer quite easily from Mac to Playbook, all video files I've tried play (including mkv and avi), I haven't tried bluetooth, but the wifi transfer is good enough for me not to have needed it.
The app store is very limited, AFAIK, there is a convoluted work around to get all android apps to play, but I haven't tried this.
My biggest complaint is the lack of compatibility with iCal, but I guess that's to be expected.
For videos, web surfing, email, the odd game and that sort of thing I love my Playbook. I bought the 16GB version around a year ago, and I am very tempted to splash out on the 64GB now it has dropped so cheap!
*edit* You will also find that a lot of cross platform apps are A LOT more expensive on the Playbook than other platforms, from memory I think Angry Birds was £5 on the PB0 -
I do just 3 things on my Playbook:
Watch movies
Read books
And at night it turns into a big, green digital clock on the other side of my bed which announces the weather and wakes me up.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

OK so the question that is still outstanding, for any Playbook owners - does it do Bluetooth file transfers - Macs aren't relevant.0
-
-
and a quick google would say no, bluetooth transfer is not possible.0
-
I said that Macs aren't relevant as any OSX Mac with bluetooth fitted can do it. As can any bluetooth equipped Windows PC - it's about the Playbook, not Macs.
So the Playbook does have bluetooth hardware, but according to SuperHan, does NOT support Bluetooth file transfers, just like an iPad.
Unless there's some app in the Playbook store, WiFi transfers won't be possible either. Plugging in is often the fastest way for big files anyway.0
