I have found a Samsung mobile that is 4-5 years old and none of these websites that offer cash or vouchers are paying out for the phone.

Might be useful if you gave the model of the phone...

there are non profit organisations that collect old mobiles so they can be given to elderlies as alert system.
you won't receive any money for it, but its for a good purpose ...

I would say you have the Samsung Steel, 4-5 years old, but worthless for the recycling crowd. If you could confirm what handset you have, assuming it is in good condition, then people could more helpful.
  • You could always try eBay...quite a few times I've got reasonable money for quite an old and battered handset, although that was before the recycle companies had become so prominent.

You could offer it on freegle, or else keep it as a spare, with a PAYG SIM in it.

Wouldn't it be more honest to hand it in to the police?

Oh, I kinda assumed they'd found it in a drawer, or down the back of the sofa or something...
