tesco diabetic goodie bag

got one for dad in law, who has both leukaemia and diabetes, pharmacist woman reluctantly gave me one with a long black face, as if i am taking cash from her purse. well, at least she did not interrogate me.
most of the content are missing, only the monitor and a bag of toffee, and a few coupons.
would it help if we actually go back to the pharmacist and thank the person who gave us the bag? when there are enough people doing that, they may realize most people obtained the bag are actually genuine cases. so maybe their attitude will change? and see customers differently?0 -
Juat wanted to say thanks. Our local Tesco had a couple of packs in it. They did do a quick run through first of my son's diabetes, but I can understand that they want to make sure they only go to people who are diabetics. They had some good advice too so it was really impressed and quite glad we had the chat.
Many thanks to the OP :TApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Thanks for this freebie,
I was diagnosed as being diabetic this week and came on to the forum for any relevant posts and information and came across this one.
I went to my local Tesco and asked for the free information packs, I didn't want to seem as if I knew all about them and the lady went from the pharmacy to the back warehouse to get me a goodie bag especially and I also got one for my mother on law who has been diabetic for some time now.
So now I have a useful monitoring metre and goodies to try!
Thanks again.

Well, I am diabetic and would be extremely annoyed if non-diabetic people were abusing stuff like this...
Although, I do already have a blood glucose monitor, but my mam (who is also diabetic, recently diagnosed) doesn't.
I will maybe go to Tesco Kingston Park and have a lookie...0
