i asked about this for my mum... they said they were only giving them out to people who had had a diabetes test by tesco... the SA demanded to know when my mum had been in. I said "i'm sorry she's not been in but she is a diabetic." I then got an exreemly rude "well she cant have one then can she!?" omg was there any need to be soooo rude?

That's terrible, and as you said, completely unneccessary. You should report this lady to customer services. I can understand they want to make sure that only diabetics receive this one, but it could be done in a much better way, ie. i'm sorry but we can only give them to people who have taken our test, maybe your mum could come in for one.

I had a rude response from the pharmacist at my local branch, but I just called back on a Saturday when she wasn't there, and the young girl who was covering the pharmacy gave me one quite happily. I refuse to use the pharmacy for my prescriptions now though, preferring to give my busines to sainsburys where they are always pleasant!
