Does anyone know how do i refund from Paypal, the refund button has gone because the transaction was so long ago?

That is going to be a problem as the refund button only works for 60 days. All you can do is send another payment, which is why I so hate late refunds, it just costs everyone a great deal of money and makes a seller vulnerable against a bank chargeback on the original payment.

  • What's everyones cut off point for making refunds and just saying too late. This will be 89 days, with no contact before hand. Should I refund minus the paypal and ebay fees that i won't now be able to claim back? Just annoyed really that they didn't tell me sooner, but a nice polite email from them so will prob just refund them it all.

Why don't PayPal just allow refunds for ever? Its not like it would cost them anything to provide such a service, is it?

I can really understand your frustration Soolin, even though mine is slightly different!

My anger has gone up in the last 20 mins.
2 weeks ago i had a 1 star for item not as described, unknown item or buyer and no contact (as usual), no negs or neutrals, all green dots.
Neutral yesterday for item not as described (awaiting the 1 star to follow) even though they are WRONG and i am RIGHT,but i have absolutely no redress to the situation.
Just now i received an ebay message from a buyer that i knew i should have blocked after the 1st order.
His first order was a combined (2 items) order request and the best i could do after the automatic combined purchase discount was to knock off 20p.The bit that made me worry was the message in Paypal,
'please ensure items are properly wrapped for dispatch'
Anyway,2 days later he ordered again (Same message again in Paypal) but 2 completely different items.
He is now complaining that 1 of the items in the 2nd order is not the same quality as 1 of the 'free' items in the fist order!
    I do feel like saying..........
"I did not say it was the same, you ordered X and received X in your first order. You then ordered Y and received Y in your 2nd order, why would you expect X in your Y order?"
He has left a positive for the 1st order and a positive for the 1 item he is happy with in the 2nd order, can he leave a neg for the item he is not happy with? (both items were the same order and paid at the same time)
    GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: :D:D:D

Sometimes you just have to log out, punch the wall , have a coffee and try to phrase a reply that doesn't sound as sarcastic as you wish it could.

Sometimes though the temptation to respond with 'no doubt you live at home with your mummy and she says that you are a good little (45 year old ) man and you are feeling a bit down because even your online character can't get a girlfriend- but please, just read over the utter nonsense you are spouting in your emails before you send them.

    Thanks Soolin,wise and calming words.
Can the buyer do anything (feedback wise) now they have left a positive, even though the positive was for 1 of the 2 items they bought in the same transaction?

    I'm still grumpy,

A European buyer bought an item 8 days ago and has gone straight to a paypal INR, no contact with me first, no nothing. My actual despatch time on that item is 2 working days but I sent it in one- so technically item is not even delayed yet.

They say things come in threes, so am dreading what comes next......

Sorry i am so grumpy I forgot to answer this. If buyer has already left feedback for the transaction they cannot leave leave any more unless they buy from you again. Just remember to block any buyer that makes you feel uncomfortable.
