I wanna tough phone

my hubby needs a new phone cos his is faulty. But he needs something tough cos he works on a farm.

I saw the JCB Sitemaster today and I thought that looked good (though I don't really want to spend £90 on a phone), but the reviews arent that great.

can anyone pls help? thanks

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. They are absolute junk. My dad had one and it was useless.

Get a cheap Nokia, they are bulletproof, and can be picked up for as little as a tenner. If it breaks, no big deal, just buy another one!
  • If he is willing to try touch screen you could pick up a Motorola defy second hand on eBay for around 50-70. Lower cost and much better phone. It just depends on what he wants to use it for.

Morning Randyros. Do you know if the farm he works on is part of a farmers cooperative? If the farm is in Norfolk then it is likely part of AtlasFram Group or Anglia Farmers. If the farm is a member of either of these groups then you will be able to purchase a tough phone at a discounted rate.

The Samsung Solid Xcover C3350. is worth considering. It doesn't immediately strike you as a tough looking phone but has been designed with durability in mind and gets reasonably good reviews.

You can buy neoprene (bulletproof) skins for most mobiles

best brand i heard of is "Otter Box" - have excellent reputation
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

Not sure I'd describe neoprene as bullet proof, it is the same material that wetsuits are made of. Otterbox is made of polycarb but you are right to suggest them, they have a pretty good reputation and are affordable.

thanks. that first one looks good.

my hubbys not one for technology, so as long as he can text and talk with it, he's happy. dustproof is a must, and shockproof is preferable.
