vodafone and content control removal
I have a pay as you go account with them for years. I have moved my sim card in a new smartphone and ask them to send the settings to my phone.
When I tried to log into my national lottery account, content control prevented me to log into my account.
I have gone to the vodafone website and tried to remove it in my account, basically you give them a credit card number etc, and they charge you £1 on it. But when I do it it ends up saying that my request cannot be processed due to a temporary problem at their end. So after 5 days of trying, I have initiated a chat with a vodafone representative.
I was just asking when he thought that system for removing CC will be repaired, but he didn't answer my question and just told me to take my proof of identity to a vodafone shop or to send him a photo of my driving licence/passport to his email and he will be able to remove it straight away. I told him that I do not send copies of important documents by email (especially since one of my friend was a victim of identity fraud, and that was nasty) and that I shouldn't have CC imposed on me by default in the first place, and need to go all the way to a vodafone shop to have it removed, and that I had that account for years and was using the same card for years to top up, wasn't it proof enough? But he insisted he needed proof of identity. Then he passed me to someone else, who said exactly the same thing, and never answered my question about the CC removal online repair. I start to think it'll never be repaired and no one will have the possibility to remove CC online.
It's not that I want to go on dodgy or naughty websites on my phone, and I seldom go on the internet on my phone as it costs too much anyway, but it's the principle of it.
I do understand that children should be protected, and it's more the fact that it seems I am prevented to remove CC from my account online(it looks like it from where I stand), which would have been done in a few minutes, and being forced to give copies of important personal documents if I want CC to be removed that's annoying me the most. I would understand if it was a new sim card, and a new account, but my debit card and phone number has been registered with them for years, I would have thought it would be enough.
Is it like that with all companies, or is it only vodafone?

Hi Spark,
I am sorry to hear that you have had problems getting the Content Control bar lifted on your account. I am not aware of any known issues with the page but I will certainly raise this to our technical teams to investigate.
I can remove this for you if you get in touch via the link shown here and include WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.
Include a link to your post and a contact number and I will get in touch.
Many thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

I have sent the details you have been asking.
I did try again in the past few days to remove content control via the website, as you said you will tell them about the fault, but it's still not working. I start to think it is purpose-made.
Please remove the content control off my phone.
Thank you.0
