I had my older dog chipped and was still "getting round" to having the younger one done.

There was a RSPCA van parked at our shops and the man was asking everyone with dogs if the dogs were chipped.

When I said my younger one wasn't yet, he offered to do it there and then free of charge.

So I got him chipped right away - it's peace of mind for me. A collar can come off, but a chip will always bring your dog home.

Ive always had my furbabies chipped but sometimes no matter what you do they go missing and never turn up again :(

I have 2 furbabies now but a number of years ago i had 2 others 2 brothers who were chipped also.

We were informed there was a fox in the area that one of the brothers may have fallen prey to, but the other we dont know about. But i have kept the same number in the hope they turn up, and even informed the company of a change of address. :(

Our current furbabies have both microchips and collars that state they are microchiped.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have all my pets microchipped and would not dream of not doing so. One of my cats disappeared earlier this year and a couple of days later I got a call from a vet as a neighbour had found him dead in her garden and taken him to the vet. As upsetting as it was at least I knew what had happened to him - not knowing would have been much worse

  • Does microchipping hurt or distress a cat?

Im asking on behalf on my Nan who has rehomed a 1 year old cat this week. The friend we got the cat from said only one of her cats was chipped as this was done whilst he was having an op but she hadnt had the other cat chipped because she had heard it wasnt very nice for the cat if they were awake- which has put my Nan off taking her new cat to now be chipped- so I said I would ask around- and thought this is the best place to ask.

    Many thanks in advance.
  • My two were fine with it. They got chipped with their second vaccination. Other than being miffed at being taken to the vet there was no problem.

A pet shop near me was offering Micro chipping for just 10 pounds, cheaper than anywhere else I'd seen so an opportunity not to be missed! It is such a weight of my mind knowing she can be traced back to me if she ever got lost, so yes, a must for me! xx
