Hi wonder if anyone can assist

conditional offer of Fixed penalty issued

offence date 15th July at 09:50

letter sent out 30th August, are they allowed to wait this long?

doesn't state the speed I was doing just the speed limit

says may be dealt with by fixed penalty of £60 and 3 points, I have no points.

have old style licence but it says on tick boxes

I hold a valid GB licence issued by the DVLA and enclose it with its paper counterpart

or

I hold a non GB Licence etc etc

confused.....

can I send my old licence in and how will they issue new style when they aren't requesting a photo?

and can they really send the letter out without the actual speed and so many weeks later?

many thanks in advance

Does it not give the road name/location? You should know the limit if you know the road.

If the alleged offence was on the 15th July then you should have received a notice of intended prosecution (NIP) within 14 days of the offence. Is the car registered in your name and at your current address?

If the OP is the registered keeper then he should have received the NIP. He hasn't stated that he is not the RK so it is reasonable to assume he is, until such time he says otherwise. Hence why I asked if the car was registered in the OP's name.

    Hi folks

thanks for all your answers, ok it actually states conditional offer of fixed penalty......

so not the same as a NIP....

I have tried to call them, but it just keeps ringing out....

yes I do know the road, so I have no excuses, it has two lanes either side of the carriage way, but is a built up on one side with apartments.

Yes I am the legal owner/registered keeper and yes it is registered at my address.

I was kind of surprised to see it had taken them over 6 and half weeks to produce the letter, which I actually received yesterday.

and does anyone know what happens as in my licence, they havent asked for a photo, but quite clearly they won't send me back my old style licence will they?

    Many thanks again

    Dipsy,

Can you confirm if you received a NIP within 14 days of the alleged offence?
