Claiming Jobseekers Allowance whilst in a relationship

I've been reading all these things this morning and it's making me feel miserable. I have an interview at the job-centre tomorrow to see if I can claim but I don't think I'll be able to for the following reasons.
I have no NI contributions
I live with my fianc! who works full time and earns roughly 12000 a year.
Is there any point in going to the interview?

You may as well go to the interview and see. I don't have the knoweldge to answer your question, but you won't know unless you ask....?0

Sorry for my attitude, I'm really struggling at the moment as I have problems that aren't really recognised/cared about by most people.0

As you have no NI contributions, probably not. However, you may be entitled to some Working Tax Credits. It's hard to advise as you don't state basic things like your age, housing circumstances etc etc. It may be worth your while going alone and seeing what you may be entitled to.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

You should still go and sign on. This will give you NI credits for future claiming of benefits, these also go towards your state pension.
Just curious, why do you not have any NI credits.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I'm 26 and living with my fianc! and we rent a flat.
Going on my own is not an option as I suffer from depression and anxiety and would panic going on my own.
And I don't have any as I have never worked and been on benefits since I was 22 (altho I haven't been getting any for over a year now).0 -
So are you going to be job seeking? Or should you be claiming an out of work sickness benefit like ESA?4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

I didn't think I'd be able to get ESA because of living with my partner. When he moved in with me and my mum, they took my benefits away. I also didn't think they would class me as having a disability now that things seem more strict.0

If you have not paid NI Conts then you will not qualify for ESA or JSA payments. However you could claim either in order to receive NI Credits, towards your pension.
Do you have care or mobility needs? If so, you may be eligible for DLA.
Are you receiving help from your GP?0
