Morning Hester and all who follow

Lovely day here. WM and DW on. Scrambled egg on toast for brekkie. Got woken at 2am, by shouting. I have new neighbours, and his brother was standing on top of his van yelling that people were out to get him. Totally delusional, no one there at all:eek: Managed to get him to come down, and knocked next door till they let him in.

Went to the hospital yesterday t:mad: see my gynae. Lovely man, looks like that at LAST after a year of trying to get my BP down, I can have the op.:T
As I left, I opened the front door to find the handle sheared off and I was left with the spindle only:eek: Found the paperwork, it's guaranteed for 10 years, so they are coming today to (hopefully) fix it. Having to use the back door at the moment, good job I can open and close it with a key!:rotfl:

SIL had to sign on for the first time yesterday, and hated it.:o

Hester Schools are notorious for penny-pinching, I know how difficult it was for me! Glad I'm out of it, don't accept any c*** from them

Elona Hope your DD is better soon.

    Have a good day all!

    Morning :hello:

My house is MY house. If I have to put up with all the crap dumped everywhere while the others swan off doing whatever it is they do, then I get final say on everything :D Have spent the last couple of days putting things exactly where I want them. I must have had 'that look' on my face because no-one has dared argue with me.

A friend turned up yesterday, he was on his way home from fishing and dropped off two fabulous trout :D We ate one last night with potatoes from the garden, the other is in the freezer.

Second day of sunshine here, I think summer has arrived :D I'll get all the washing done today then potter about in the garden.

  • Morning All
It looks like it will be another lovely day :D :j :D
I have just got DS to take the sofa covers off for me and they are whizzing around in the machine, I have wanted to do that for weeks, then it will be the chair cover and the cushion covers, so another laundry day really. I had run out of ice cream and lollies (found out when I defrosted the freezer) So DH took me to Farmfoods last night to pick some up :D

I did revel in George Osborne being Booed at the Paralympics last night,:T even the people holding the medals were grinning like Cheshire Cats :T Cameron was booed to a lesser extent, but sadly he must have taken his supporters.

Maybe the audience had heard about this...........

  • Good morning.
DS escorted to school. For the first time EVER he put on his uniform first without needing to put on his own clothes first. Big achievement and a proud mummy here :D
DD is desperate to go to school all day but she's having to wait til tomorrow ;)
Plans are baking, sewing, lawn mowing and housework. Very rock and roll ;)
    Tea is chicken Louisiana tonight.

Hester you school just gets worse

Elona hope they find out what's behind DD being poorly ASAP x

Tru am loving the attitude ;)

Judi good luck finding another course for your DS x

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

  • Morning all

Hester - hope it's not too bad a day!
Judi - hope DS finds a suitable course
Hilstep - glad you can now have the op
Bitsy - yay well done Harry!

I hope all of you enjoyed sending off the kids to school this morning :p

I went to the hospital this morning to have an MRI scan for my vertigo. I won't lie, it was horrific . I was very anxious beforehand, as I'm claustrophobic. TBH the worst bits was the going in and out of the machine. Once I was in and doing some deep breathing I just concentrated on the noises (which I didn't find scary, like some people say they are) and only panicked once :(. It was over quicker than I expected, but I hope to never have to have another one again! I should get the results in a week or so.

I'm back in work now, just recruited one last team member for my group that start next week. Off out to buy lunch in a minute, didn't have the head to make it this morning. Then lots of paperwork to do this afternoon.

OS wise - dishes to wash, probably freezer meal for dinner.

    Have a good day all

BB thanks for that link. I'm not even applying for ESA. I just can't go through all their hoops of fire; I'm just too fragile, physically and mentally. I currently get DLA high rate care and high rate mobility, and am stashing that away to pay for one-off things (f'r instance, the bath-lift was paid for from it) and just living on my pension.

I need Mr LW with me if I go out anywhere, so gods only know how I'd get to a jobcentre, in any case, as he works in Letchworth!

Had a rotten night last night - I was in so much pain, I honestly didn't know where to put myself. Even Oramorph barely scratched the surface of it.:( Thankfully it's eased a bit this morning (have had 2 doses of Oramorph thus far) so I'm hoping it's had its little hissy fit and will settle down for a while now.:o

I need to get Mr LW to a barber - he's visiting the optician on Friday, when he's next wfh, so hopefully he can get his hair cut while we're in town. He currently looks, as his Grandma would have said, "like a music teacher".:D The story behind this is that one time she said to Mr LW's Dad: "Roy, get your hair cut, you look like a music teacher!" And Roy complied!!:rotfl:I'm not sure when this was - a lot of years ago, for sure, because Roy passed away in 1981.:(

I did run his razor over the back of Mr LW's neck last night for him, to shift the worst of the little wispy bits, but it's only a stopgap to make him a bit tidier.;)

HM nut loaf (from the freezer) with sweet'n'sour rice for our dins tonight. And I've promised Mr LW a chocolate mousse - I have a recipe that uses fresh rosemary - for pud, so must go and make that in a bit.;)

Elona I hope the hossy can get to the bottom of what's wrong with your DD. Hopefully she'll enjoy her fairy cake - how kind of your youngest to make them!:o

    Afternoon all,

Been to doctor this morning to have OH's slight chest pain checked out...doc says that it is nothing to worry about. Picked up prescriptions for us both and mopped up his desk when he spilled his tea all over it...language was colourful to say the least, and that was just doc!

Dinner will be bacon and cabbage, looking forward to it as its one of our favourite dinners and we don't have it often, will follow with apple and rhubarb cake with ice-cream.

Paid my bills for the month, feeling rather well off which probably means that I have completely forgotten about something, still its a nice feeling while it lasts!

Its another nice sunny day here, although there was rain during the night so OH can't mow lawns, mower keeps clogging with wet grass and he can no longer turn it over to clear so will have to wait until its all really dry....they may find us next September in the middle of an overgrown garden!!

Looking forward to trip to Cork to see DS1 and family at weekend, especially DGD2, as haven't seen her since May, although I expect that she is very busy translating for her Japanese grandparents who speak no English.

Need to strip chicken carcass and make some stock, want to make some soup as getting to that time of year and I love soup at any time, will use water which I cook bacon in too, so should be tasty, even if OH is not mad about soup.

Hugs to all who are not feeling well, hope that the pain eases soon LW and that they figure out what your DD's problem is Elona. Ruby...how is your dad these days?
