I hope someone can help me.
I am facing eviction from my flat. I am expecting a letter from the County Court giving me a date for the hearing.
I have not received any personal post for three weeks. Nothing with my name on it.
I wondered if an unscrupulous LL could redirect my post without my knowledge, so I don't get that letter and as such fail to attend court and the case automatically goes in the LL's favour
Thank you

I don't think so.
When I've had a redirection, the GPO sent two letters - one to the address from which the redirection was occurring, and one to the new address. So you'd have received notification if anyone tried it.
And the one to your existing address won't get 'redirected' so you would receive it.
Have you received any contact from the CC at all? If so, you will have a case reference number which you could ring them and ask for progress on. If not, it may just be that there's a backlog at the court.0 -
Royal Mail wants to see an original ID to process an application for redirection:

If you're at work all day and your landlord has access, he might be collecting your mail perhaps, who knows.0 -

Anyway, just to be on the safe side, keep checking with the court and also, you could phone your sorting office and mention your lack of post to them.
I note you state you haven't had anything addressed to you personally in last 3 weeks. Just wondered if anything came addressed to 'occupier' instead?

Send yourself a letter and check whether it arrives. If it does not, put a complaint in to royal mail in writing and keep a copy. I beleive to that you can arrange to collect your mail.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

This might sound a bit obvious but.... have you asked Royal Mail?0

just go to your sorting office and get a redirection form (or do it online?)
and pay the charge - for however long you want to i.e. 1 month etc.
best wishes.

The OP isn't asking how to set up a redirection!
OP,simply contact/visit your local delivery office and ask if theres a redirection0 -
Sorry for the delay but things have got a little worse. I contacted Royal Mail and they told me my post is not being redirected but that would not stop my LL coming in and only taking the letter from the court.
Now whats happened is that the LL has decided he is above the Law and not waited for the Court date and broke into my flat while I was away for a few days. Plastered a letter on the inside window for all my neighbours to read.
And changed the locks so I cannot get in.
On the letter it states he does not believe I live there I have to get the keys of them. Today is Saturday. They don't open until Monday.
I don't know if I should break in or not.0 -

Police might help you get back in legally - do you have a copy of the tenancy agreement anywhere? Take photos and get witness statements of what has happened from the neighbours. Keep in regular contact with the court by telephone or personal visit so you know the date, make a note of the name of the person you speak to every time in case they make an error. Then turn up and state you have been illegally evicted. Speak to the council's housing department, MP, ward councillors, solicitor if you can get legal aid.
You might want to be careful saying you have been away if you are in rent arrears, it could look bad that you can afford that. Even if you have a good explanation people might not want to hear it. You do know if you are being evicted for arrears you only have to catch up and the section 8 notice to quit and legal action are invalid?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I contacted shelter this morning and they advised me to contact the local council who would have a tenancy advisory officer. I did but being Sunday, no one was there.
So I gained access to my home and changed the lock. I am tired of bullies, they have to be shown up for the idiots they are.
Tomorrow my LA will be told by Shelters solicitor that they committed a crime and to stop harassing me and follow procedure,hopefully.0
