Thank you for your email. We can see from our records that it was posted to you on 28-AUG-2012 using Royal Mail and was sent to your address below.

All items within the UK are sent via Royal Mail First Class, or City-Link depending on the value of the order.

Most items normally get delivered within 1-2 working days(Inc Saturdays) however Royal Mail can sometimes take longer for delivery but do not worry as your order is most likely to be on its way to you.

According to Royal Mail's guidelines, we will not consider a First Class mail lost until the 15th working day has passed. This is because most packages are delivered or returned to us as "undeliverable" within this period.

After the 15th working days of your purchase, if the item has not been delivered, please contact us via eBay messaging system.

Sellers who do this are their own worst enemies. Ignore the bit about the 15th day - that is their lookout, not yours. By not entertaining any claims until after that date, they are putting themselves right in the firing line and painting an enormous bulls-eye on their feedback rating :(.

However, for something bought last Tuesday, I would not be worrying yet. It could realistically come within this week. Any later and then open a dispute if you are not happy to wait what equates to three working weeks.

1st class can take longer - it doesn't always arrive next day as a lot of people expect. As a seller I would not usually make my customer wait the 15 working days however I would politely ask you to wait until the end of the week to see if it arrives.

No you do not have to wait, the RM claim window is nothing to do with you and once a selelr tells me that I tend to be less understanding about time frames generally.

Notmally I would suggest asking for a refund after 10 working days, but that message would mean I would probably go to an INR a bit earlier

Have to agree with soolin here. Why should you need to wait any longer. Especially as it means your phone is without a case (I'm in the same boat right now!) It would urge me to open an INR case soon. Probably find that they will pop another case in the post the next day or refund right away.

Thanks guys, i see what you are saying about it still arriving although i tend to think it would have been here by now. When i go to the item it says it should be here between the 29th and the 3rd.

It should have been but Royal Mail don't get it right 100% of the time. It could have gone to a different part of the country by mistake and is making its way to your DO. You can't really blame the seller for any mistakes made by RM. My advice is give it until Friday and then raise an INR if it hasn't arrived then.
  • Last Monday was a bank holiday which meant even more stuff than a normal Monday was put through Royal Mail on the Tuesday and it often means delays. Allowing until next Tuesday for delivery would be about right.

I always allow longer BUT - some sellers mark as dispatched a day or 2 before posting. If it does have a postmark - check it.

Now that ebay mark items as dispatched on screen and email the buyer - i think sellers should now only mark them as dispatched on the day they actually do it.
