Never over complicate things on ebay.
If the OPs terms were clear then they were clear and no amount of made up excuses will make any difference.
Not overcomplicating, puts them on the backfoot, worked for me before... even if in my case it may be true, I always put two days despatch time... Buying and selling on eBay for 11 years I've never suffered through lack of just communicating and reasoning.0 -

The OP has no need to make excuses though, they were within their posting time scale. Most of us who have hung about eBay far too long have learnt to mistrust other users who come out with all sorts of irrelevant info about what something that did or did not happen, it makes a user look guilty.

It was never meant to say that's something thats done all the time. It happens occasionaly, and genuinely. Communication is everything, it's not mistrust at all. I'd rather have a note to say an item is on its way and that its late, I dont mind if a reason is genuine or not. My experience of buying and selling on eBay puts some of the giants to shame in communication and despatch time. I feel genuinely sorry for the OP on this case as I realise they are well within their rights and timescales. The unfortunate thing for them is it seems this buyer would be likely to complain if one person is in front of them in the queue at the P.O.
A genuine no win situation I wish you luck in dealing with this idiot buyer.0 -
I tell them to view the order details at the side of the item in my ebay - it clearly states the estimated delivery time.
This is clear in the listing and at checkout.
Happened to me once or twice and they were ok when explained.0
