Does anyone know a good cheap source for replacements that are not fakes ?

I buy mine from Tesco and use a selection of their own toiletry coupons to bring the price down. ;)

    Good luck. MM x

    Review from ebay:
Watch out for fake Braun "flexisoft" heads. They break within 2 - 10 days--the head stops rotating. The ones I received had German writing on the otherwise totally convincing package. The Oral B logo did wipe off on some of them. Before leaving feedback, make sure your brush heads work for at least two weeks, maybe longer.

Bearing in mind genuine heads are supposed to last 3 months each I would really recommend buying these heads from a reputable source. I would even be wary of ebayers with a reasonable feedback rating if customers have initially thought they've got a bargain and hastily left feedback without giving them a proper test.

Please don't get ripped off. :o

4 heads - a year's supply - are £13.25 in Argos, possibly cheaper elsewhere if there are deals on.

If your pocket can stretch to it I whole heartedly reccommend the Braun PC 9500 DLX Triumph, it's like visiting the higenest every time you brush. They retail for around £150 but you can get it here for £72.50

I got mine from here so again can reccommend the site also. Also got 12 brush heads from ebay for £9.99 If you want the id of the seller I can provide that.

Thank you - that's an excellent price. Unfortunately, I bought the 7000, however an assistant in Boots told me that the 7000 can take the Triumph heads, so effectivey I could get the same cleaning without the other extras of the 9000.

They also had a 7000 range one at 1/3 off - i think this was £25 or £29. I didn't realise there were so many options.

I'm currently midway though £120's worth of Hygenists appointment on the so called NHS and the hygenist recommended an electric brush. Does anyone have any ideas which one to go for and whether these are genuine offers?

Both I and my hygienists usually recommend the 7000. Correct level of power, but no unecessary tricks and gimmicks that don't affect the quality of the brushing.

Ultimately, any toothbrush is only as good as the hand wielding it, so don't expect an electric brush to be a miracle cure - you sill have to use it correctly. If you buy one, take it along to a hygiene appointment, and ask whether they would check that your technique is effective.

Also, try getting some disclosing tablets/solution. These stain the plaque that you are supposed to be removing with your brush - so have a brush, then use the disclosing solution to assess how you have done. You will initially often find that there are certain areas that you routinely miss, so you can modify your technique to encompass these.

Sainsburys have the Flexisoft 4-pack of heads on offer at £7.99

A sign on the display said £9.99 I think but lower down on the shelf the label said £7.99 and that's the price they scanned through at the checkout.

    Excellent price.

This was at Sainsbury's in Ipswich, not sure if it is national but worth a look if you're wanting to save a few pounds.

I don't know if anyone else has picked up on this, but for most of the Oral-B Brushes, there is a difference between the product descriptions in the Argos catalogue and the product descriptions online.

All of the online descriptions for the brushes that are on half price offer say that a 2 pin adapter is included. However, certainly the 7000 does not have an adapter included in the box. I don't think the others do either, so it looks like this is a misprint. Anyway, I pointed this out when I bought one in Brighton yesterday and got a free adapter. I know you can pick them up in the pound shop, but they are £2.99 in Argos and it a bit of an extra bonus whatever way you look at it, especially if you need to get one. I guess anyone who has already bought one could go in and point out that the error and get the adapter.
