Oral-B Electric Tooth Brushes

Sainsbury's currently have OralB Braun brushes at half price or 1/3 off depending on the model. The cheapest are £12.49 (half price) and they have diffrent models with diffrent heads - a dual head, a convential head and a round head - this confused me, but I was tempted with the dual one which was a combination of the other two. They also had a 7000 range one at 1/3 off - i think this was £25 or £29. I didn't realise there were so many options.

I'm currently midway though £120's worth of Hygenists appointment on the so called NHS and the hygenist recommended an electric brush. Does anyone have any ideas which one to go for and whether these are genuine offers?

I was lucky enough to get one of the d750's from an earlier post here, Can highly recommend the Braun toothbrushes, get one with a timer though, and the 4x30 second one is better still

May I ask where this was from and how much it was - personally, whilst I can see the advantage of the timer, I was more interested in which brushing action to choose - it's really confusing.

It was from Superdrug an posted right here on the grabbit board (in Feb I think). As for the timer, it ensures you brush for the recommended 2 minutes at at time. Saves you taking a stopwatch into the bathroom!

I use the dual head brushes. Think they are the best.

How many a dual head brushes were in each pack? (They usually sell them in a 2 or 4 pack).

If I remember correctly it was 2 brushes for £6.66 - is that good? the £12.49 I was referring to was for the brush unit, which came with 1 brush
  • I bought the Dual clean brush heads for my Oral-B and was VERY disappointed. The brush head is so large you can't really maneuver it round your mouth like the circular ones. Stick with the circular type I say!! And be very gentle.

If the £12.49 toothbrushes are the 'Vitality' range (all with different brushheads) I'd take the £25 rrp with a pinch of salt - last month they were on introductory offer in Superdrug for (I think) £7.49.

I find it ok... maybe I have a big mouth lol!!:D

OP, the 2 pack are just under a tenner in Tesco... so yes, £6.66 is an ok price (unless you used coupons in Tesco then you could probably get it cheaper;) )

BTW, I have the Braun Vitality (bought it half price) and while I wouldn't pay full price for it I think its worth the money. Much better than a battery operated one.

I'd go for an Oral-B one because you can find replacement brushes everywhere.
I have a Colgate one, and could only find replacement head brushes in Tesco.
The downside of the Oral-B model is that the brushes are very expensive.

For replacement Oral-B heads, eBay is far cheaper than the shops. I paid about £7.50 for 12 last week (the original round ones).
