Buying bathroom tiles....eek

Hi,
We are getting our bathroom re tiled next week, the builder has left the tile buyinh to me, and now I actually have to make a decision. We are keeping our white suite and having a shower installed.
The bathroom is quite small (about 7ftx 5ft) so I can't have it too crowded.
Ok I am thinking I'd like some of the larger rectangular tiles I've seen in friends houses, in a maybe beige matt effect.
I am needing quite serious budget, but don't want rubbish.
Where do I need to look? I have done some internet reading and lots of people saying topps/ b and q etc are over priced rubbish.
Porcelanosa being reccomended, but I don't really get it, or why and would like to avoid a week of traipsing round tile shops!!
Any help would be welcome. Thank you.xx

if you are going for large tiles check the weights per m2 plastered walls will only hold 20kg/m2, plus if you go for natural stone they will req sealing & large tiles needs to be fitted with bagged adhesive the tub/ready mixed is not suitable.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
You don't say where you are, but try and find a local CTD store, their tile
They are good quality at sensible prices. (even better if you can get a trade discount. Your builder/tiler should be able to).
Good luck0 -
I'm in Leicester so doesn't seem to be a CTD shop. I don't want enormous big, just bigger than standard tiles (and rectangular).0

Don't even consider having big tiles then. May be fashionable but they will overpower a small bathroom.loubylou35 wrote: »The bathroom is quite small (about 7ftx 5ft)
Theres a CTD in Nottingham. But I'd go for a local indy and see what he can do for you.

how much did it cost you to re tile the bathroom.0

If you have a tight budget, I dont see much wrong with basic tiles from any DIY store, but avoid cheapest thin ones.0
