Buying bathroom tiles....eek

Hi,
We are getting our bathroom re tiled next week, the builder has left the tile buyinh to me, and now I actually have to make a decision. We are keeping our white suite and having a shower installed.
The bathroom is quite small (about 7ftx 5ft) so I can't have it too crowded.

Ok I am thinking I'd like some of the larger rectangular tiles I've seen in friends houses, in a maybe beige matt effect.
I am needing quite serious budget, but don't want rubbish.

Where do I need to look? I have done some internet reading and lots of people saying topps/ b and q etc are over priced rubbish.
Porcelanosa being reccomended, but I don't really get it, or why and would like to avoid a week of traipsing round tile shops!!
Any help would be welcome. Thank you.xx
