How easy is it to get a Nationwide Current Account?

They don't offer a basic account per se, however if you apply for their FlexAccount and don't meet the credit scoring criteria, they may offer you the account with a CashCard+ (which is a full auth visa debit card which you can't use in foreign ATMs).
You also won't get the free travel insurance, flexclusive offers or any credit facilities, so it is, in essence, a basic account.0 -
They have indeed just offered me the CashCard+
It seems a reasonable enough account to me.
Will they offer this CashCard+ to absolutely anyone? If so, surely it is a pretty decent solution for those people who say they can't seem to get a bank account anywhere else?
Can anyone tell me what the card will look like? Is it a Visa Electron or just a normal debit card?0 -
They do offer the Cashcard+ directly as a standalone basic account but you have to pick up an application in branch.
Otherwise, you have to be declined or be too young for a FlexAccount to be offered it as as alternative via other channels
As basic accounts go, its not too bad with full LINK atm access and a Visa Debit card. Only negatives are limited counter access and it's barred from using ATMs abroad. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It's a purple

Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0 -

I am not fussed what my cards look like but I think I would have something to say if that card slipped through my letterbox.0
