Sonic Internet Ltd

I live in rural Lancashire and my broadband (from TalkTalk) is rubbish. There is a company called Sonic Internet Ltd which does not use a landline. Does anyone know if the service is any good ? there is an installation charge of £99 and a monthly charge of between £12 and £32 but it looks like a 24 month contract, a bit long if the service is no better or the company has poor reputation. Any information would be much appreciated.

Never heard of them. But they'll be using either Wimax technology (an extended version of wifi) or satellite ... where satellite is used your upload will still likely be via phone line.0

What are your ADSL options? Any other LLU's?
In what way are TT 'rubbish'?

With TalkTalk typical speed is 800-900Kbps, frequent drop outs etc. Sorry don't understand your other jargon I'm not technical just a "silver-surfer". Just wants a more reliable quicker service.0

On reading their website they infer that you don't need a landline at all. That does surprise me wrt satellite BB ... it is very unlikely that your UPLOAD would be via satellite.0

Local Loop Unbundled.
What were the results from samknows?
It's pointless asking for a 'better' service, as broadband is exchange- specific, which is why I directed you to samknows. Without knowing your exchange, we can't say what your options are.
Dropouts are often caused by bad filters, have you got known good filters on all active extensions? Are you using wireless or ethernet? If the former, retest with ethernet to the master socket. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
