Another wandering kitty story!

Well after chipping in to the thread recently about 'Pickle', I never thought I would be in the same situation!

Since Friday night I have had a lovely little cat who is desperate to get into my house but I am very very allergic to them.

I have been feeding him and I do have a cat carrier which I use for my bunny so I have made it cosy inside for it and it uses it to sleep (he's snoozing away in the sun now!). It's on the back doorstep so there is some shelter for him.

I feel awful as he is always meowing at the window or door and he is (I say he, I have no idea of his sex) desperate to come inside but I just can't have him.

Sadly I have phoned 3 cat rescue places and they are all full :( and he is just not for moving. I will try more.

I have been out with 200 posters round my area and I am really hoping someone is missing him as much as he is missing them. He is well looked after, not thin and someone has went to the bother of putting a flea collar on him.

I went to the vet yesterday and he is sadly not chipped.

At night he likes to go up on the roof to sleep and the vet says this is because he feels most safe there (I hear him walking along the roof and then thudding off!!).

Tonight after tea I am going to go out with more flyers and hope that kitty finds his family.

can you get a photo on the posters?

  • I've actually chosen not to add a picture (I have taken loads :o) as I would much prefer someone to describe him to me.

There are just too many stories of kittys being used for dog fighting bait for my liking and if someone called and said he was his, I would have no way to prove it.

You really will find it much easier to find the cat's owner if you add a photo to anything you post online, you can ask for proof in the form of a photo from anyone claiming to be the owner or they can describe the collar (take it off for the photos).

  • As mentioned I wouldn't be able to be that close to the cat to remove his collar due to my allergy.

There are now 250 flyers out there sans photo so if there is no response to them, I may put his pic on the next lot.
  • Whereabouts are you? It's a long shot but you never know, someone may recognise him from here.

Also I presume you have checked the sites that have people advertising their lost cats?

And yes, have been on them like mad - I keep refreshing the screens. Have also posted on Gumtree myself.

It's just that he is obvs a loved cat - someone somewhere must be missing him. My daughter was outside playing with him and noticed he has a small cut under his chin and some dried blood so I don't know if he has done that before me or whether when he goes up on the roof at night he has done it.
  • Well good news for this kitty - a girl in my work says if no-one has come forward by Wednesday then she will take him:D

She is cat mad and has 4 other cats so he will have lots of new kitty friends!

He is desperate for affection. My daughter went out last night to play with him and he curled up on her lap and stayed there for 45 mins! He is obviously used to doing this.

I am getting pretty attached to the wee thing and it breaks my heart every evening to hear him meowing at the door as he just can't understand why we are in and he is not allowed. Sure enough I heard him clumping about on the roof last night.:rotfl:
  • Obviously it would be great if he was re-united with his 'owner',but it's super that you have found someone willing to take him on.Poor thing.I wonder what happened to him.If only they could talk!

    Keep us posted please.

Oh I totally agree but I figure if someone had been looking for him, they would have found one of my pleas...I feel I have done all I can and I cannot bear him being left outside all night as this is clearly not what he is used to:(

However my friend from work is a 'cat person' so I know he is going to be well looked after and I will be able to get updates on him.

This time tomorrow he will be with his new family :D so I only have one more night of feeling sad as I go to bed and hear him meowing to get in.....trust him to choose the person with the allergy eh?!! Silly kitty:rotfl:

Not so silly, chose someone with a soft enough heart to try to reunite him with his previous owner AND ensure he has a lovely forever home.
