Thats why I switched and installed a DGND3700 which has built in modem (but cant flash dd-wrt, although this doesnt seem to be a plus point for you).

I might be more tempted if it had a built-in modem. I don't like change and have used Netgear for years so familiar with interface etc.

You don't like change, yet you like to keep up with the latest tech?
How do I add a signature?

I now, that sounds contradictory, doesn't it lol :rotfl:

What I meant was, with something like a router interface I should (hopefully) have little reason to meddle with it once it's all set up so I would soon forget how it operates, as opposed to something new that I would have daily use of and become quickly accustomed to. Does that make sense?

That's probably not something I'd be particularly interested in these days. I just want something that will work out of the box with minimal input from me. I have a tendency to break things when I start fiddling these days :o

The DGND3700 looks impressive but also incredibly expensive!!

My max budget is around £100 :p

I was going to recommend a Billion/Draytek too but as you have pointed in black and white it is too expensive

If you are looking at a billion, the 7800N is the better one :)

I could probably stretch to this Billion 7800N if it's going to do what I need and last a good few years, although I don't have a need for the extra cable/fibre port as it's highly unlikely we'll ever get it. We only got switched onto ADSL2+ this year :D

On second thoughts, just read a review on Amazon which states it's limited to accepting just 16 MAC addresses, surely not? If so, that's no good for me :o

Do you live in a heavily-populated youth club by any chance ?? Surely all 15 are not in use at the same time ??? How on earth do you ever load a webpage on them all ??????

MOst routers will have a theoretical max number of devices ( IP addresses 192.168.0.X where X is 2 to 254), but in practical terms this is only a small number of simultaneous connections...check whatever device you decide on, you may be in for an unpleasant suprise....many will be less than the bipac..

Nope not all on at the same time but I like to assign reserved IP addresses for each device to prevent them trying to share, which is something I had a problem with this week. I do have more than 16 wireless devices :o

This really is overkill (fixed IP addys for all of them), if the DHCP server element of the router is working properly you shouldn't get any conflicts....check you haven't set the router to only use a set range of IP addys.
